About TGI

About Our Company

Travel Graphics International publishes a unique style of visitor maps and destination guides. Since their debut in 1975, these maps have grown to be perennial favorites in the travel and hospitality industries. We are proud to say that this remains true today. The enduring popularity of our products is illustrated by our ability to weather severe “storms” that swamped many other travel and hospitality publishers, including the Internet boom of the 1990s, the GPS mapping revolution of the 2000s, and the tourism crash resulting from the tragic events of September 11, 2001.

Our unique visitor maps illustrate landmarks and streets that visitors need to orient themselves and get around.

About Our Maps

Through four decades of research, focus groups, and trial and error, TGI has developed an illustrated, 3-dimensional map style that emphasizes major thoroughfares and prominent geographic and architectural landmarks, and that excludes small roads and other information irrelevant to most visitors. From pre-production step one, we make design and production decisions that minimize costs and maximize the accessibility of our products.

Partnerships

TGI has always thrived on strategic partnerships — with major corporations like United Airlines, with convention and visitors bureaus, and with other ad-based publishers seeking additional opportunities to present to their advertisers. Now is an especially dynamic time in TGI’s history, as our founder plans his departure from day-to-day operations and his daughter joins the business full-time to shepherd the company into the future.
